Happy Birthday and a Giveaway

Tomorrow is my blog's first birthday. To be honest, I'm suprised it's still around. I thought I'd give up on this one way before now. So, to celebrate...I'm giving away a bunch of my new luggage tag sets (soon to be listed in my shop). I'll print them with your info, laminate them and send them directly to your mailbox! When you get them, just add the ribbon of your choice, and voila! You're ready to travel.

Now for the rules:

1. The giveaway is only for members of my blog. Why? Because it's my birthday, and I want to thank you for reading...whether you've been with me all along, or if you're brand new. :) So if you're not a member yet, click on that little box to the right and you're all set.

2. Leave a comment here. The first 25 comments win a set of five luggage tags! (one of each color shown above). And yes, international readers can win, too.

3. Send me an email with the information you'd like printed on the tags.

4. Wait for your brightly colored envelope to come in the mail.

If for some odd reason, there are more than 25 people who want these little tags, don't fret. I'll send everyone after comment #25 a printable version and assembly instructions. :)

So whether your're a veteran around here, or just joining in the fun...thanks for being here!

Oh, and just in case you're wondering, the back looks a little something like this.

Real People. Real Clothes.

I've quickly become obsessed with the new (to me) phenomenon known as Lookbook.nu. Joining lookbook is by invite only. I highly doubt I'll score an invitation with the grey t-shirt and worn maternity jeans I hastily threw on this morning in order to avoid an awkward pajama situation with the locksmith. But at least I'll have one less thing to feel guilty about neglecting: between Twitter, Facebook, and my blog I don't know how I get anything "real" done in a day. Good thing I don't have an invite to lookbook, or I'd have to squeeze in time each day to: A) come up with a brilliant outfit, and B) set up an incredible photo of me wearing said brilliant outfit. Thinking about it is exhausting enough.

Even though I don't have it in me, I'm sure glad all these people do. It's fun for me to see how real people all over the world look fabulous all the time. Makes me feel a little frumpy--not to mention a tad bit voyeuristic, but it's fun to take a peek at beautiful people I don't even know. Here are a few of my recent favorites.

More Wedding Tags

You should be glad I don't show you pictures of ALL the favor tags I've been doing lately. But I'm so excited about these, I just can't resist. This is most definitely my favorite set of favor tags I've ever done. Anyway, H and I have a full day of playing ahead of us today. So I'll see you tomorrow. Have a happy Wednesday!

Oh, and P.S. this weekend my little ol' blog turns one; so stay tuned--I have a fun birthday surprise in store for 25 lucky winners! :)

Do Try This at Home

I made these Frozen Banana Ice Cream Sandwiches yesterday; kind of as a victory treat after we got H. in bed for the night. More like in bed for the first time--before his billion escape attempts. (I need a drink. I forgot to get a hug. You're my BEST friend. Here, Mommy. You can hold Teddy.) The list goes on. And on.

Maybe it was the thrill of trying to sneak our desserts past the ever-present watchful eyes of the child who should be sleeping. Maybe it's just because it's one of those desserts that's such a guilty pleasure you shouldn't even consider counting calories. But they were great. You want proof? Because even after the little wanderer finally fell asleep, we both went back for seconds. Even without the thrill of sneaking a bite of the the forbidden dessert when he wasn't looking, it still tasted just as good. Seriously. Make some tonight. And if you're a nicer mom than I am, maybe you'll even consider sharing.

August Inspiration

Today being my first blog post of the new month, I figured we'd start out with an inspiration board to get the month off to a pretty start. August invariably makes me think of peaches. My mom would buy a huge box of local peaches every year, and we'd eat a bowl of fresh peaches for breakfast every morning. And being that school started in August, fresh peaches always remind me of the start of school year.

Anyway, besides the peaches...these colors have been inspiring me a lot lately. Now I'm off in search of fresh, local peaches.
