Footprint Ghosts

I know I've shared this craft before, but it's become our official Kickoff-to-Halloween tradition...so humor me. :) To get started, you'll need to grab some white paint, a few sheets of black paper and your favorite sets of tiny feet.

First step: Roll up the pants--although, for anyone under 3, I suggest a pants-off approach. Next, slather those little tootsies with paint. It's best to use something non-toxic and washable...for obvious reasons. Finally, take that foot and squish it right down there on the paper. While you're waiting for the ghost to dry, wash the paint off the foot in question...and anything else that got tagged in the process. A common garden hose works wonders.

After the paint dries, draw a spooky ghost face with a black marker. If you're not in the mood to have one more project dangling from the fridge, these make terrific cards for grandparents. Personally, I'm going to frame it so I can add to our rotating gallery wall. It will be the perfect festive addition.

P.S. I didn't leave Hudson out. The larger ghost is his; and he's the brilliant photographer behind the crooked photo of me and Charlotte. Happy Crafting!

I love this idea. I've done it every year since you first posted it. It's a good way to watch those little feet grow.
