Dance

I'm so excited about tomorrow's Season 6 premier of So You Think You Can Dance.
Dance has a way of touching my soul that no other art form does. And it seems like I miss dancing the very most when I'm pregnant. Probably because I would look (and feel) utterly ridiculous hoisting this massive bowling ball belly around with me. So I'll just sit on the couch while this bowling ball continues to grow. But at least I'll have some good choreography to watch while I'm at it.

Every season, there's at least one piece that stays with me. I'm not usually one to post videos on my blog...but this piece by the brilliant Mia Michaels, has been haunting me for the last month or so. Perfect song choice, ingenious choreography, and impeccably performed. Enjoy!

So tell me, what fall premier are you looking forward to the most?

Weekend Reading

Since it's a long weekend, I figure I'll take the day off too. Because I can. :) So I'm leaving you for the weekend with some excellent reading material--my favorite links of the week. There's so much good stuff here, you won't even miss me for a second.

Aren't these bracelets fantastic?

Talk about a cute blog post, featuring cute paper products. It's a win-win situation.

Since I started blogging, I've absolutely adored Nichole & Evan. And this week, they gave me two more reasons to love 'em. Evan made me laugh so hard with his take on fashion magazines. And then Nichole goes and says such honest, and absolutely wonderful things about marriage. Can one couple get any more perfect?

Anne gave me even more pillows to fixate on. Isn't that bicycle one just marvelous?

I will be making some of these super-easy (and cheap!) headbands for the baby girl soon appearing at our house.

Oh, and don't forget to check out my first guest post ever. Thanks, Kotori, for making me feel like a real blogger.

I'm so excited about this giveaway. I'm putting the finishing touches on my entry now.

Candy Land Birthday

I've been dying to share this with you! My talented, amazing friend Katherine recently threw a Candy Land themed birthday party for her 5 year-old son. The results were spectacular! Just take a peek for yourself:
The party was complete with a Candy House, Sweet Shop, and candy, candy, candy everywhere! Isn't that the coolest birthday party ever?

And here are the invitations:

Besides being a super-duper party planner, and mother of four, Katherine is also an amazing professional photographer. So pretty please, don't use her images without permission. My only regret is that Katherine doesn't live close enough to help me with Hudson's birthday parties. At least I can admire her work from afar. Thank you, Katherine, for your constant inspiration; and for your willingness to share your many talents!

September Inspiration

So...I'm a bit later than I anticipated with my September inspiration board; but here it is.

The first color that comes to mind when I think of September is mustard yellow; the color of newly sharpened #2 pencils, and freshly fallen leaves. Throw in a dash of grey and some plum and you've got my September inspiration board.

This year, September means the beginning of preschool and the countdown until Baby arrives (8 weeks to go). What does this September hold for you?
