So Many Books, So Little Time

Ok, my friends. I'm in serious need of some literary advice. I've been in a bit of a reading rut lately. I keep starting books, only to lose interest--or worse, lose the book itself! I lost my current read last week in the airport; and right when I was getting into it. Ugh! So while I'm waiting patiently for a replacement copy to land on my doorstep, I could use some backup suggestions. Read any good books lately?

I'm in a rut too lately. I just can't seem to get into anything but frothy romance novels, even though I've been craving something meatier! I'm especially on the lookout for something to take on vacation with me...

Have you read 'Heyday' by Kurt Anderson? It's one of my all time faves and a fab read if you're into historical fiction with a humourous modern sensibility...

ok, here's a brief list (you may have already read some of these)
time traveler's wife (romantic yet smart) audrey niffenegger
einstein's dreams- alan lightman (love this book, it tries to answer the question of what if time was different...its kind of trippy in a good way)
extremely loud and incredibly close by jonathan foer (this is such a creative book visually speaking and the story is incredible).
water for elephants- sara gruen, this story makes carnivale life accessible and it stays with you long after you read it.
bitter is the new black jen lancaster(i wrote about this on my blog) i read it on recommendation and it is soooooo funny. ok, there's lots more where that came from but i think i'll stop now!

Have you read "The Diving Bell & the Butterfly"? Not light reading, but it sounds amazing - I intend to purchase it this week. Right now I'm reading "Nine Minutes" by Jodi Picoult. Just started it, so can't say if it's worth checking out just yet!

Good luck finding your next great read. I need to track down a copy of the book you lost last week - have heard such great things about it!!

I wish I had a suggestion but I have the exact same problem:/ That is a very cool picture though!

You've got to join www.goodreads.com and then it's just a matter of choosing which book.... Some of my recent favorites: Run by Ann Patchett, Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy and right now I'm loving Garlic and Sapphires by Ruth Reichl.
