I'm No Good at Tag

Growing up, I was never any good at tag. I got so nervous about it. What if I got tagged, and then couldn't run fast enough to tag anyone else? Just thinking about it brings on a wave of anxiety. Luckily, this kind of tag is easier to handle...the problem is that you have to deal with me blathering on about myself. It won't hurt my feelings one bit if you just ignore my blog completely today. But thanks to the lovely T. of Kotori for including me in this fun little game of tag.

What's your current obsession?
Cooking. I've always liked cooking. But lately, I've been really into planning my menus for the week and making new, fun dinners just to keep it interesting around here.

What's your weirdest obsession?
Spelling. I can't stand misspelled words. I've always been a little nutty about spelling.

What are you wearing today?
My favorite jeans (gotta wear them as much as I can while they still fit!)
Turquoise tee with a fun, ruched neckline
Dangly silver bracelet and earrings
No shoes...I never wear them in the house, for comfort's sake. But when I do go out, I'll probably throw on my favorite green ballet flats.

Why is today special?
Because it's not 94 degrees outside! This week has been killing me. I'm so glad we get a break from this crazy heat. It's just made me realize exactly how much I'm not looking forward to the heat of summer.

What would you like to learn to do?
Sing. But that'll never happen. Really. So a more achievable goal is that I'd like to learn to cut hair.

What's for dinner today?
Swedish meatballs and rice.
Spinach salad.
Fresh fruit.

What's the last thing you bought?
The thing I bought were yesterday's groceries, but that's no fun.
So the last fun thing I bought was new baseball pj's for my son. He loves them.

What are you listening to right now?
Right now? Silence. A pretty rare thing around here.
Musically? When B comes home, the boys often have a little air guitar session featuring blues or Van Halen. And I have to say that their musical tastes are starting to grow on me.

What's your favorite weather?
I love an occasional rainy day. But for everyday, give me 75 and sunny.

What's your most challenging goal right now?
Trying to keep up my normal schedule while I have zero energy. I really don't want to make little H suffer along with me, so I've been trying extra hard to maintain his social schedule during pregnancy. It's tiring, but it's worth it, and the housework is taking the brunt of the neglect.

What do you think about the person who tagged you?
Kotori is so genuine and kind. I really admire her in so many ways. She has a beautiful home, and a beautiful family. I can tell that she gets joy out of being a mother and I love that.

If you could have a house totally paid for, fully furnished anywhere in the world, where would you like it to be?

San Francisco. No doubt about it. That's the one place I've ever lived that I instantly felt at home. I felt like I truly belonged there. A little cliche, but as far as cities are concerned, my heart will always belong to San Francisco.

Favorite vacation spot?
Hawaii. Perfect weather, great food, water sports, and sitting on a beach. But then, I've never been to Europe. London seems like my kind of city...maybe someday I'll find out.

What would you like to have in your hands right now?
A nice, cold Diet Coke. Only 6 more months to go. One of the worst things about being pregnant.

What would you like to get rid of?
This horrendous sunburn I got on my neck and shoulders from our trip to the beach on Monday. It's actually starting to blister and it hurts like crazy!

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
I'd love to go home and see my mom. I've been missing her a lot lately.

Which language do you want to learn?
I know some Spanish, but I'd love to use it enough that I don't forget everything. And I'd love to be able to hold up a decent conversation.

What did you dream of last night?
Nothing. I actually didn't sleep at all because of this stupid sunburn. I spent part of the night tossing and turning in bed and finally gave up and tried to rest on the couch for the remainder of the night.

What's your favorite thing about the city you live in?
It's so conveniently located. It's just a quick drive to the airport or the A's games. It's by so much fun kid stuff. We even have a lake here in town for boating and fishing. There's tons of biking trails and other fun outdoor stuff. It has a small town feel, but close to the city, so I can go back anytime I feel too homesick.

What's your favorite piece of clothing in your own closet?
That's tough. But in my opinion, you can never go wrong with a great-fitting pair of jeans. My current faves are my super dark Citizens.

What's your dream job?
I love that I'm lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom. I couldn't bear to miss a moment of H's life. He's my best little buddy, and soon enough it won't be so cool for him to hang out with his mom, so I'm going to soak it up while I can. If I had to have an occupation in addition to being a mom, I would be an interior designer.

If you had $150 now what would you spend it on?
Date night with B. Those don't happen nearly often enough.

Do you admire anyone's style?

Anne Hathaway. She always looks impeccable, polished, and always perfect.

Describe your personal style.
Comfortable and casual, but not sloppy. I have to be ready to run and play and get dirty, so washability is a huge factor for me these days. I always try to include a fun twist with every outfit...colored shoes, statement jewelry, etc.

Who's fashion show would you want tickets to?
Marc Jacobs...I've been drooling over his work for years.

Who's closet would you want to raid?
Probably the Lucky Magazine closet. What closet would be better to raid than a fashion magazine? For me, Lucky is the most approachable fashion around, and stuff I could easily wear and still feel like myself.

What are you most proud of?
Our cute little family. I love seeing the way we love each other and enjoy being around one another.

Now the rules of this tag:
1. Respond and rework: answer the questions on your blog, replace one question you dislike with a question of your own invention.
2. Tag 7 other people you would love to learn more about. Here's mine:

I loved all of your answers. I think you'd be a great hair stylist (seems to be recession proof too). And raiding the Lucky closet sounds like a lot of fun!
