I sat one night thumbing through the stack of catalogs that seems to have multiplied overnight. I was pleasantly surprised to re-discover some old favorites along with some new treasures from
Ballard Designs. Sometimes I get a bit overwhelmed by Ballard, since not much of it reflects my tastes, but here are a few that stood out to me:
Imagine
these containers on the bathroom counter filled with q-tips and cotton balls.
Or maybe as a unique vase. Or a romantic candleholder. Or pencil cup...the possibilities are endless.
I don't love the styling of this photo, but I do love the clean lines of
the bench. If I had more of an entry, I would definitley put this to good use.
Love the design and the color options of
this rug.
I've got a few wayward doors at my place. They would look a lot cooler with a big, nautical, on-purpose
doorstop, instead of the little plastic toys we've jammed under to keep them open.
So what are your secrets for affordable home decor?

West Elm always has jute bouclé rugs in the new season colors. The 2x3 is around $20 and I buy them to put in my entryway. They are heavy duty and hold up to the traffic but add a pop of color.
Oh, I love all of these accessories. I am especially fond of that doorstop--it is is nautical without being over the top!
Also, love your hairstyle post--I can't even bear to look at my middle school pictures!
I have always loved Ballard Designs! That is where I got the inspiration for my robin's egg blue living room walls years ago!
Love those containers! Affordable decor is when you get inspired by expensive stores and find similar things at thrift shops that you can work with.
