Happiness

It's true--times are tough right now. It's hard not to be discouraged by all the things going on around us. But I've decided I'm not going to let it get me down. I've resolved to find joy in the simple things in life. I have plenty of reasons to be happy. And this is a great time to take stock of our lives and realize what true happiness is. To me, true happiness comes through loving others, enjoying life's small surprises, and observing the beautiful, ordinary things that often go unnoticed.

So here's a list of things that make me happy right now:
  • The rain we're supposed to get this weekend. I love rain.
  • My morning snuggle time with H. Even though I'm half-asleep (or alot asleep) I still love that he loves to snuggle.
  • Pretty photos, like the one above, from retr0spect.
  • Organic frozen yogurt with strawberries and blueberries.
  • All of my wonderful friends--both in real life, and my blog friends. You guys rock!
  • My upcoming trip to see my family.
  • The pretty spring shoes I see in stores now. Even though I most likely won't be buying them, it makes me happy just to look.
  • Sharing strawberries with a friend.
  • Listening to great new music. Let me just say that I seriously heart The Fray.
  • Quiet time spent reading.
  • Flowers "just because" on a day when I especially needed them.
  • Getting my washing machine fixed.
  • Blowing bubbles
  • Pink toenails

So I have to ask...what are you happy about today?

I am happy Jack had a day off school today!

I love laying in bed with the kids and snuggling too - we call them "Lazy Parties."

Great list, by the way!

I so needed to read this post right now. I just had my heart broken and thinking about the little things I love, like the way my dogs cuddles up with me at just the right time, does help bring a smile to my face.

coffee, toddler leg hugs, the unsolicited "I love you" from my daughter, waking up to a clean house... these things always me smile, no matter what.

Thanks for your post. I'm going for this attitude too... It's hard sometimes but it does seem to help.
