Resolution: Read More

A couple years ago, I made a resolution that I actually kept, and had fun doing. It was that I was going to read at least 12 books during the year. At one book per month, that's entirely reasonable. It felt great to accomplish something, and it was wonderful to use my mind in that capacity again. It's so easy for me to get so wrapped up in other pursuits that I let reading slip. 2008 was a year where I let other things come before reading. I'm afraid to say I can probably count the books I read last year on one hand...what a shame. So I've again resolved to read more this year. What are your favorite books? I could definitely use some suggestions for reading material this year.

Being the sort who enjoys a good list, I've always wanted a way to keep track of all the books I've read. A friend introduced me to Shelfari about a year ago, and it's perfect for me. It's nice to have a visual reminder of the things I've read. Somehow, seeing the books makes it easier to recall what's inside. I've added my current read on the sidebar, so you can keep track of my progress throughout the year.

Here's to a year of getting lost in the pages of a book!

So I am reading the 6th book in the Great & Terrible series. SO GOOD! They are by Christ Stewart a former Air Force pilot who is LDS. They start out in the pre-existence with a family and follow their lives in the last days on earth. (Like us!) Really I have learned SO much and the books are capitivating and so exciting. Not too 'churchy' but so inspiring.

The History of Love by Nicole Krauss (sp?) - it has been a favorite of mine for a couple of years now! It is absolutely delightful
